Hertha BerlinIn the build-up to the start of the Premier League season, Chris Hughton will look to try and build on his final season at Brighton in which the Seagulls finished seventh, beating Watford and Sunderland en route to their first top-flight finish since promotion in 2006.

The Blues have a busy summer with an influx of new signings for Hughton to make his mark on, but he will also have to bring some of his key players back into the fold after their World Cup exploits.

There will be plenty of changes from last term, with loanee Charlie Austin making the move to Glasgow and new signings Andriy Yarmolenko, Jannik Vestergaard and Steve Sidwell joining Hughton in the dug-out.

However, there is still talent in the squad – the likes of Davy Propper, Lewis Dunk, Anthony Knockaert and Florin Andone being the main names who may play a key role this season.

It will be a busy campaign for Hughton, but he will be handed plenty of support around him, with the likes of Aidy Boothroyd, Richie Wellens and Graham Potter looking to emulate the impressive feats of Gus Poyet.

Wherever Brighton’s season goes, the club will look to reward their fans with a successful team, with a league title in their sights, and a terrific atmosphere across the whole ground.

But what

SQL query to calculate time difference from current timestamp

I have a table that logs people in and out of the computer system. I would like to calculate the time that they were logged in and out of the system. I have the following statement to calculate the time when they logged in.
tick ’10 seconds’
tick ‘1 minute’
) AS timestamp
FROM `log`

I have tried several variants of this, but cannot seem to get any results. I get a query result, but its time is always the current system time.

Your “tick” is simply the time you get when you perform it. The time in the table is the same time (i.e. you ran “tick” 30 minutes ago, the value in the table 30 minutes ago). You should just use:
DATE_ADD(NOW(), INTERVAL ‘1 minute’ * tick)
